In this post, I will be sharing Pack 2 of nouns worksheet that is ideal for practicing common nouns.
Common nouns name people, places, animals and things that are not specific. They are not the actual NAMES of people, places, animals or things.
For example, ‘jam’ is a common noun, but the name of the jam, ‘Nestle’ is not a common noun because it names a particular brand of jam.
In the same way, ‘railways’ is a common noun, but ‘Indian Railways’ is not a common noun because it names a specific or particular railway.
Colors is a common noun but ‘Staedtler’ names a particular brand of colors and therefore not a common noun.
City is a common noun but ‘New York’ is not a common noun because it names a specific city. When we name something specific, it is a proper noun.
